Heading out of Kamloops
2010-06-14
The ride out of Kamloops, where we were rescued in various ways by
Taboo Bicycles and
Eyes International (thank you!!), was one of the nicest days of the trip. The morning riding on Westsyde Rd. was absolutely luscious: winding deserted riverside road. We rode a reaction ferry across the river and continued on the Yellowhead Hwy (shown here), through an area of BC that was devastated by
fire in August 2003. In this photograph you can see the slopes have not yet recovered. The owner of a charmingly decorated
antique shop in Louis Creek told us the fascinating history of the fire and pointed out the landmarks.
