GENERAL INFO:
-------------
The series can be viewed by any '.GIF' viewer. However,
accurate display of the work requires a computer system that has
the ability to display 256 colour images at a resolution of 640
by 480.
The images may be freely distributed but are copyrighted to
Ken Stange, who sincerely requests that they not be modified.

SPECIFIC INFO:
--------------
The creatures in this zoo owe their existence to the
magical generative powers of fractal iterations. What they
grew up to be can only be blamed on their adoptive parent
and his odd sense of humour.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:
-----------------
Ken Stange is a Canadian poet, novelist, and visual artist
with a strong interest in science and computers. His newest
book is Advice To Travellers (Penumbra Press, Fall 1994). His
computer art and poetry has been shown in juried shows and
published in literary and art periodicals.
He is interested in the interface between the visual and
literary arts, and considers the computer the most appropriate
medium with which to explore this colourful 'gray' area. He
calls these pieces 'poems' because they contain important textual
elements. He has also published programs and articles in
computer magazines. He is interested in corresponding with
anyone who shares his interest in the relationship of literature
and art and science. Send email to: KENS@EINSTEIN.UNIPISSING.CA
