INTRODUCTIONConstruction 27: GRITTY AND GAUDY QUERIES...consists of a series of four 'computer poems' created by Ken Stange:
GRITTY AND GAUDY QUERIES was completed on 30 June 1998. SPECIFIC INFO:These pieces are based on a visit to Barcelona. The central focus of each work is play on a work by Gaudi, the (in)famous architect of that exciting, eclectic city. The treatment is somewhat surreal and the floating umbrella an allusion to the work of Magritte -- hence the pun on their names as the title for the series.GENERAL INFO:The series can be viewed by any graphic viewer capable of showing 'jpeg' files. However, accurate display of the work requires a computer system that has the ability to display true colour images at a resolution of 1024 by 768. Note that the display from your browser has been adjusted to a screen display that should fit nicely on the screen, but if the image is downloaded, it will be full size. The images may be freely distributed but are copyrighted to Ken Stange, who sincerely requests that they not be modified. Folks interested in purchasing a high-quality, limited-edition, signed, and matted print of any of these artworks should send email indicating which work(s) they might be interested in. Information on available prints and prices will be sent by return email. THE WORKS (Start here)
